About Sarah Hallberg

Sarah was born and raised in the Omaha Metro area. She graduated from Clarkson College and joined the Premier Therapy family in March 2018. In her (minimal!) free-time she enjoys camping, hiking, biking, running....anything to be outdoors! A hard worker and an adventure seeker at heart; "work hard, play hard" is her motto for life. She is known for her happy spirit and glass-half-full way of thinking.

Age is Just a Number

In the Physical Therapy world, we see patients from all walks of life; people who are coming to therapy for anything from acute injuries, with possible orthopedic surgeries; to chronic pain, with sometimes limited movement. The one shared response that we hear is that they are here (in therapy) to get better; be in less pain. However, what is life after therapy? What was life like before therapy? Could Your Pain be Misleading You?

True Case Study : Patient is having pain in low back with sciatic issues. Patient is sent to physical therapy where patient is evaluated for piriformis syndrome. The Physical Therapist that is performing this evaluation notices patient needs to use restroom before and during the evaluation session. Patient is asked about frequency with urine use, to which the patient replies with using the bathroom at every stop just in case; not aware of time or duration between bathroom use. [...]
