As many of you may or may not know, earlier this December was The Hitchcock Experience 50 and 100 mile endurance races. It was sponsored by a great group of endurance athletes called the G.O.A.T.Z (Greater Omaha Area Trail Runners) and took place at the Hitchcock Nature Center located in Honey Creek, IA. This race included 19,000 feet of elevation change for the 50 mile participants and approximately 38,000 ft for the 100 milers. This got me to thinking of how important gluteal strength is in making it up those hills as well as pretty much any aerobic or upright activity we perform. I came across this article that has some great exercises for all of us to make sure we have a smarta$$ and not a dumb one.
